This week marked 17 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks on our country. Now each year on Patriot Day, we recognize, remember and honor the 2,977 men and women who lost their lives on that tragic day.
As we reflect on the victims in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, we also honor the brave first responders who ran toward danger to bravely save others.
To hear first-responder calls, touch pieces of the World Trade Center and see artifacts from those who lost their lives, consider visiting the recently opened traveling exhibit at the Indiana War Memorial in Indianapolis. The exhibit is open through February.
